unearthing a forgotten gem is kind of like Christmas Morning.

sometimes we need to be reminded that there is always hope…
and that our light of hope lies within.

Update: Listen to a demo of the song here.

Waiting Within

lyrics and melody by Luna

Racing through this life
counting the days by like hours
Longing for the love you left behind
Standing on the edge
letting your fear overpower
feeling like you’re running out time

pre-chorus:
and you throw up your hands
thinking life’s not worth living
You can’t see through the sad in your eyes

chorus:
Don’t cry
there’s a tomorrow
You’ll find
it’s not the end
just try
to see through the sorrow
and you’ll find the light
Waiting Within

Searching through the silence
for a key to the answer
You spend your life
just waiting for a sign
But hiding here within you
is the grace of a dancer
the light you seek
was with you all the time

double pre-chorus:

and there’s nothing to fear
fill your heart with foregiving
Feel the fire of love here inside
and the moment is here
life is now, just start living
and just cast all your sadness aside

Double chorus:
Don’t cry
there’s a tomorrow
You’ll find
it’s not the end
just try
to see through the sorrow
and you’ll find the light

Don’t cry
there’s a tomorrow
You’ll find
it’s not the end
just try
to see through the sorrow
and you’ll find the light
Waiting Within
It’s the love, the light

Here’s an initial rough reference demo that we recorded last year, however it will be reworked and re-recorded.

Amazing Rays... The light cannot be contained.

Note: I happened upon the year-old post about this song in my blog yesterday as I was looking for something else: I found a song unfinished (my writing partner learned a painful lesson about early adoption that brought his studio to its knees), that had fallen off my radar.
(actually, there are quite a few in holding pattern – I must do something about that ;)
Excited to find a forgotten unfinished gem, I felt compelled to share and tweet some snippets of my lyrics. One of the tweets was the chorus:

Don’t cry
there’s a tomorrow
You’ll find
it’s not the end
just try
to see through the sorrow
and you’ll find the light
Waiting Within

Checking my @ replies this morning, I found one where a friend of mine, a musician I respect, tweeted my chorus lyrics to another friend – one who is going through a particularly rough emotional time. Her recent tweets were full of pain and sadness – and feelings of just wanting to cry. When I read them, I just wanted to reach out and give her a big comforting hug and let her know that this will pass. Hopefully, the words my friend passed on to her comforted her in some small way.

It was one of the best confirmations and affirmations I have ever gotten for why I write and share.
And gave me a deeper understanding of why I’m driven to share certain things at certain times.
There are no coincidences :)
